300ZX tranny adaptor for VQ ready for sale

I have finished and tested the kit to swap the 300ZX tranny to the VQ blocks with the 350Z or pathfinder oil pan.

The kit will be available with all the mounting hardware and easy to follow instructions.

    PM with interest

Re: 300ZX tranny adaptor for VQ ready for sale

I just recently found, and started searching, this site so I appologize if this has been covered before...But can you provide more details on this?  Which 300ZX tranny?  Z31 or Z32?  Do you know how the weight of the 300ZX 5spd compares to the weight of the 350Z 6spd, and how much all the required adapting hardware weighs?  What all is required parts wise to make this kit work?  Is there a specific flywheel/clutch/TOB needed?  Does require a flywheel spacer?  Is the starter moved?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm in the early planning stages for a project and recently discovered I can add the VQ to my list of potential drivetrains.  The idea of using a more affordable, and potentially lighter, 5spd tranny for this is very appealing to me.

    ello,

I do not know the exact weight of the Z32 300ZX tranny but it is about 40lbs less than the Z33.

The adaptor is for the Z32 tranny with the VQ series motors with the 350Z oil pan.

    You can use the 300ZX Z32 clutch or a Z33 350Z clutch
    It requires a 350Z flywheel.

The adaptor with all the hardware weighs 10lbs
    it is 3/4 inch aluminum.

The 350Z starter is used in its original position, the tranny requires a cut where the Z32 starte poked through the bell housing but that is it.

All the parts are included except a modified tranny bracket (crossmember). For your selected swap. Uses stock TOB, no spacer for the flywheel.

$540 for the complete kit with your shifter core available for the 240SX and 300ZX swap.

How does the shifter position of the z32 5spd compare to that of the Z33 6spd?

The Z32 Shifter is about 3 inches shorter than the Z33. We modify for your application.

    Thanks.

I've read that the z32 5-speed is stronger than the z33 6-speed.  Is this true?

    Andrew,

The plate looks great, glad you got this figured out.

P.S.  I've emailed Mark about the wiring we spoke about yesterday, I'm just waiting for him to email me back.

Hence the adaptor....... it is a grand opinion that the Z32 is a stronger box, I will attest first hand that under race conditions (BEATING IT HARD) the Z33 can't take it and the Z32 can!

    Thanks for looking.
