sooo... that ~374 RWHP for us in the STATES. very, very  nice for LOW BOOST! wanna see vids of the pulls man! also, do you have pix of your finished manifold before you wrapped it? also, did you keep the accessories on the block? i was wanting to keep the powersteering and a/c pumps.

    Re: vq30det s14 build

I was looking for data for the Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit and it USES the Factory manifolds (W/O Cutting) that go to  a y-pipe section thats pretty nifty... download the insturctions and it is figure 47 and 48 that shows the pipe they used to connect the RH manifold to the LH manifold and etc. I got my z/G manifolds in Last week from www.Z1motorsports.com. i will prolly have the shop do this simillar setup to speed up the process or see if i can order the peices seperately. also, are the aftermarket headers wider than the stock headers??

    Re: vq30det s14 build

i think on the first page there was a pic, i cut the standard manifolds and welded because they came back way to far for my liking, to make my whole manifold set up, cross over pipe and all was a little over $120, then another $150 for heatwrap.

this is $NZ so take a 3rd off..

have you seen tubular turbo exhaust manifolds anywhere for a VQ? all i can find is the cast ones.

    Re: vq30det s14 build

i saw the pix but didn't see how you routed the RH side over to the LH. i won't have them cut the manifold since i might upgrade to aftermarket depending on clearance issues.

WE WANT VIDS AND PIX! :)

    Re: vq30det s14 build

A lot of guys use NA headers for the VQ35 and flip them upside down [so they're facing forward] and then weld a turbo flange to the collector area. That's my plan. I like the Stillen ones.

    Re: vq30det s14 build

no passes or revving? i will follow the same route turbonetics used since the z has less room to work with. hopefully i can use the aftermarket N/A headers.

    Re: vq30det s14 build

i have nothing more at the moment, ill see if i can get some this weekend,

as for turning the manifolds forward, the rh side will foul on the alternator or the power steer pump or mabey even both,

    Re: vq30det s14 build

Well on a VQ35 they look like this:

I'm pretty sure it's a direct flip on VQ35's, but on VQ30's you might have to cut off the flange and re-weld it on, and enabling you to fix any potential clearance issues

    Re: vq30det s14 build

Is it me.. or did you move the engine forward a bit, compared to other swaps that we've seen?  If so, did this help with the shifter placement?  I'm trying to decide how far I can move the engine forward.. I'm not really worried about weight ratio.. This will be a straight line car.

    Re: vq30det s14 build

I love this thread.  Nice work

Those pics are sick!!!  That IM is very similar to the idea I had in my head.  The problem though with running the NA manifolds backwards is that they are the wrong type of stainless.  I can't remember the numbers on SS but the type that is typically used for NA headers is very weak at high temps.
