i'm in the same boat but want to swap in a 5.4/6-speed manual.right now i have a 4.2 with?5-speed manual.(2006) i plan to find a wrecked f-250 with that compo an just swap over the engine/trans and computor and hope it turns out ok. not many people doing this type of swaps.
